7.4 Frost protection temperatures
An internal frost protection monitoring
prevents the heat exchanger from freezing
up at low external temperatures.
Temperature sensors continually register
the temperature on the heat exchanger
and of the outside air.
7.4.1 WS 170 comfort and bypass unit
Frost protection is ensured using the
internal frost protection heating register
integrated in the outside air channel of
the ventilation unit.
7.4.2 WS 170 standard unit
The supply air fan switches off if the outgoing
air temperature downstream of the heat
exchanger falls below the preset "Frost
protection switch-off point".
The supply air fan only switches on again
when the temperature increases to the set
"Frost protection switch-off point".
A detailed description of how to set the
switch-on and switch-off points is provided
in the WS 170 installation instructions.
