Error Code Possible Cause of Error and Resolution
Error
Initializing
Embosser There is no communication between the motherboard and the embosser. Or the embosser
stalled when the system was initialized. Try restarting the system and checking connections
between the embosser and motherboard.
Error XY Move
To Card Home
Position This indicates that the XY transport mechanism was not detected as being in the home
(start) position. Check to ensure that there is nothing blocking the card path and perform a
system reset. If the problem continues, perform a system restart.
Error Creating
IMAGE Indicates that an error was detected in the text data sent to the printer. Adjustment of the
print data location is required so that the text conforms to the print head position.
Error XY Move

Handoff
Position This indicates that the XY transport mechanism was not detected in the home (start)
position. Check to ensure that there is nothing blocking the card path and perform a system
reset. If the problem continues, perform a system restart.
Error Creating
TEXT This indicates an error was detected in the text data sent to the printer. Adjust the print data
so it conforms to the text requirements of the printer.
Error XY Move
To Eject
Handoff
Position This indicates that there was a difficulty in the XY Transport moving the card to the final
stage (card eject). Check to ensure that there is nothing blocking the card path and, if
necessary, clear the path. If this problem persists the EC1000 will require service.
Error
Clamping
Card This indicates an error detected when clamping the card in the XY Transport. Check to
ensure that the card has cleared the path and, if necessary, clear the path. If this problem
persists the EC1000 may require service.
Printer Busy This message can occur if the ribbon is not present, is broken, or a card may be stuck in the
print path. Ensure the print path is clear and the ribbon is inserted correctly. If the error does
not clear by itself (after closing the top cover) you may need to restart the unit.
System is
Starting Up This is a normal process message. If the display is stuck on this message after several
minutes, you should restart the unit.
Windows Error
Message The printer was not ready, try again.
DHCP lease
could not be
renewed, Error
code: 82 There is no network connection, make sure the patch cable to the machine is connected and
verify connectivity to the network.
Unable to load
firmware No network communication
Login error Incorrect password was entered three times, enter the correct password or reboot the
system
