switches and their corresponding
circuits. To start the tests, the driver
must turn the individual switches on/
off. As the switches turn ON/OFF, the
cluster updates the DID to show
switch option being tested and its
status.
NOTE
For additional information concerning the
stalk controls, refer to the Stalk Controls
sub-section of the Driver Information
Display (DID) chapter.
From the Pre-Trip Assistant main
screen, select Light Switch Test
Check List.
Press Enter.
The Switch Test screen displays.
Manually turn ON/OFF each switch
listed on the checklist.
The check list is updated with the
results of each switch test as they
are completed. Check boxes
represent a successfully completed
test. Red boxes represent failed
tests.
A red checkbox could mean that the
switch is not available or an error has
occured. If any of the checkboxes
display red, for available switches,
maintenance is required by a
certified technician before driving the
vehicle.
Air Brake Leak-Down Test
1 The Air Brake Leak-Down Test
allows the driver to measure the
amount of air pressure drop in the
primary and secondary brake air
systems. After selecting Air Brake
Leak-Down Test from the Pre-Trip
Assistant main screen, you are
prompted to apply the service brake
for 60 seconds. After applying and
holding the service brake for 60
seconds, the DID will display the
amount of pressure drop in the brake
system.
Before starting the test through the
DID, complete the following:
• Start the engine and check that
the brake pressure gauges are
greater than 100 psi.
• Turn the engine off.
• Release the park brake.
The initial Leak-Down test screen
displays.
NOTE
Before starting the leak-down test secure
the vehicle by parking it on a level surface,
applying the parking brake, and chocking
the front wheels.
The air tanks must have 100 psi of
pressure, in order for the Leak-Down
test to initiate.
