g: Load a Form, Fill it, and Set the Buffer Length
Note:
Expanded functions are case-sensitive.
Expanded Function g
is a message that copies the form currently in the form buffer into the DOS
terminal's compose buffer and fills the form with any text that is contained in the message.
Expanded Function g also sets the automatic transmit buffer length in the same transmission.
Rule: Do not use Expanded Function g to call up a form that has a number
symbol as the third text character. This type of form has an automatic
transmit buffer length as an integral part of the form. The automatic
transmit buffer length assigned with the number symbol overrides the
buffer length that you are trying to assign with Expanded Function g.
Prerequisite
To use Expanded Function g, the form that you wish to fill must already be in the form buffer.
Application
Expanded Function g could be used to reissue a form containing data that calls attention to an
invalid data entry. This form should allow the operator to correct the entry, and it could specify a
different automatic transmit buffer length that causes the DOS terminal to automatically transmit
at the point where the correction is made.
See “G: Load the Form Buffer into the Compose Buffer and Fill with Data” for detailed
application information.
