Horizontal Venting Installations
Special Note for all Rigid Pipe Vent installations
Regardless on the configuration starting at the rear of the fireplace a
30
°
elbow
will be required
to
allow proper
alignment of subsequent piping:
•
When elbows are required up to four
elbows (45ºor 90º) may be used. If an elbow
is installed, each elbow has a one (1) foot
positive value on the horizontal length of
vent run.
Example: if three elbows are required to
complete the vent run with a 10ft. horizontal
section the run must be valued at 13ft.
• Elbow combinations can be either
horizontal or vertical in any combination
that does not exceed the four elbow limit.
•All horizontal vent termination
installations must install the 6in. by 16in.
high heat plate on the wall face directly
above the termination cap. Failure to
install this may cause damage and/or fire
to any combustible materials
Using the reference chart below an
appropriate vent run can be determined
by crossing both vertical and horizontal
measurements lines. If the values fall
within the graph the installation will be
correct.
•
Any straight length from elbow to 21 ft. maximum
is permitted at the maximum vertical height.
Lowest minimum
height is 63 in. to
termination center
From the unit base
11ft. is the
longest
horizontal run
@ the lowest
vertical height.
.
24ft. is the
tallest vertical
run in any type
on installation
