8. The CALL period for the units determines how often the Alertex
units ‘check-in’ with the IP Masthead to update their status. The Call
period can be set between 3 and 99 minutes for each unit. Set the
call period by using the up and down arrows on the boxes underneath
‘Call Period’. More frequent check-ins will affect battery life
9. If the number of units exceeds 11, use the Page buttons on the right-
hand side to navigate to the next page where you can continue to add
new units
10. To test the system, make sure that you are in edit mode and select
‘Alertex’ from the middle drop-down menu in the bottom right corner
of the screen
11. Select the type of test you want to perform from the bottom drop-
down menu and click the ‘Send’ button to initiate the test
12. To cancel the test, click on the ‘Clear’ button above ‘Send’
13. Make sure to save your changes by clicking ‘Save Setup’ in the top
right corner
Larger Sites
For larger sites, you can use the Genesis masthead and walk tester
(LGWT434) to establish the wireless range of Alertex units. Note that
presently this can only be used to measure the signal strength of units
within the first mesh hop. Detailed instructions can be found in the
DOWNLOADS section of the Luminite website.
Set-up Email Alerts
Email alerts require the user to set-up an SMTP email service to send and
receive email alerts. We recommend using SMTP2Go as they have a free
plan that allows you to send and receive up to 1000 emails per month
(www.smtp2go.com).
