3. Plug the IP Masthead into your router via an ethernet cable
4. Ensure that your computer and the IP masthead are connected to
the same router (the computer can be connected wirelessly or via
ethernet) and open the Alertex PC App (this is a .exe file and will only
run on Windows computers). The app is standalone and does not need
to be installed.
5. In the Connection tab, click on the IP address of the connected
masthead. If the masthead doesn’t show up in the connection window,
click the blue button that says ‘Discover Masthead on LAN’

7. There are two ways to connect the masthead: live mode and edit
mode. Edit mode is selected by default and allows you to test units.
Live mode enables you to monitor units and get live activation updates
from the system. You cannot test in live mode and you cannot monitor
in edit mode. Tick the ‘Live mode’ box to enable live mode and deselect
it to enable edit mode
8. Click on the blue Connect button to connect the app to your IP
masthead
Set-up Your Alertex Units
1. Navigate to the Alertex tab whilst in edit mode. By default, there are
5 Alertex units added with example names
2. Make sure that ‘Alertex’ is selected from the top right-hand drop-
down menu
3. Change the site name in the box to the right of ‘Dev Number’
4. To delete the default units, click the red ‘X’ to the left of their unit
number
5. You can edit the unit details by changing the unit number with the up
and down arrows, or changing the name by clicking on the name box
6. Make sure that the unit number in the PC app corresponds with the
unit number on the physical unit
7. To add a new unit, click on the red ‘+’ underneath the units
