14.3 Secondary parameters
The secondary parameters are set separately:
Â
Hold down the mode button 20, press the save but-
ton 58.
Â
With the selection buttons 32 or 33 select the desired
secondary parameter
9
In the left 7-segment display 36 the code of the pa-
rameter is displayed, in the right 7-segment display
35 the value of the parameter.
Â
Use knob 34 to set the desired value.
For more effective adjustment, all welding
parameters can be changed even during
the welding process.

Code
AC
1, 3
ACS = AC-Standard,
ACH = AC-Hard
ACS
The AC parameter in the AC-Standard basic setting enables
working with low-noise arcs and good re/ignition behaviour.
For pure aluminium it may be necessary to switch over the
parameter to AC-Hard.
ACS = soft and quiet arc
ACH = very stable and hard arc
Arc dynamic
2
0 - 200 %
100
The welding current increases automatically as the weld-
ing voltage is reduced. The arc dynamic indicates the ratio
between the main current and the automatic increase.
Ignition peak
correction
3
10 - 200 %
100
The ignition peak current is set after ignition to provide
stabilisation of the arc. A different ignition peak current is
saved in the unit for each selected electrode diameter. This
ignition peak current can be increased or reduced by the
quoted percentage.
Positive current
correction
1, 3
10 - 200 %
100
Ignition using the positive current is used for optimum
dome formation in TIG AC welding. A different positive cur-
rent is saved in the unit for each selected electrode diam-
eter. This positive current can be increased or reduced by
the quoted percentage.
MACS
frequency
1, 3
0,2 - 5 Hz
2
MACS balance
1, 3
10 - 90 %
alternating current
60
Indicates the percentage ratio between alternating current
(AC) and direct current (DC). If the value set is 60, the ratio
is 60% AC to 40% DC.
Job no. for CWF
3
0 - 99, JOF=JobOff
or FOF=FeedOff
JOF
For job selection on a connected wire feeder (e.g. Lorch
Feed 1).
0 - 99 = corresponding job selected
JOF = job selection switched off
FOF = wire feeder is switched off

When set at “On” and 4-stroke operating mode, the wire
feeder (e.g. Lorch Feed 1) only starts with the 2nd stroke.

On
Function assignment of the second current torch button 76.
On = normal function (second current)
OFF = no function
fd2 = starts feed for as long as the button is pressed (2-stroke)
fd4 = starts feed with the first activation of the button, stops
feed by activating the button a second time (4-stroke)

All Powermaster torches of the i-LTG/i-LTW – series have
two free programmable parameter spaces. Depending on
the type of welding machine and operating mode, different
parameters can be selected (please also see „14.4 Pow-
ermaster parameters“ on page 45).
If the wire feeder FEED is connected, parameter space
PL3 is always “fdS”.

OFF, ON
OFF
ON: mode button at the torch of the i-LTG/i-LTW serie is
locked. By pressing the mode button for 2 seconds, the
button is unlocked for 15 seconds. If the start/stop-button
is pressed during these 15 seconds, the mode button is
immediately locked.

OFF, ON
OFF
ON: during the welding (I>0), the up / down buttons at the
torches of the i-LTG/i-LTW-series are locked.

OFF
ON: if a torch of the i-LTG/i-LTW –series is used, only a
welding current up to the max. torch strain limit can be
adjusted at the welding machine.
