Approved Vent Configurations
Overview
This appliance has several components used to control the flow of intake air and exhaust gases.
Depending upon vent configuration, you may be required to adjust the intake restrictor, exhaust restrictor,
diffuser and/or install the intake dampers and extender plate. Refer to the vent configuration (pages 17 to
22) to determine the correct restrictor, damper, extender, and diffuser settings.
Intake Restrictor
NOTE: Refer to the vent configuration (pages 17 to 22) to determine the correct restrictor position.
Intake Damper Plates
NOTE: Refer to the vent configuration (pages 17 to 22) to determine if these plates must be installed.

Two intake damper plates are included in the owner’s pack. They are installed behind the burner in
certain vent configurations. See page 50 for details on removing the burner.
To Adjust the Restrictor:

NOTE:
Position #1 is the fully open position
Determine a restrictor position (see the charts under
"Approved Vent Configurations")
Remove the screw.
Rotate the adjustment plate counter-clockwise until the
correct index hole is over the screw hole.
Insert the screw into the correct index hole and tighten.
Use touch-up paint to conceal any exposed steel near the
restrictor.
This restrictor is in
Position #5.
Rotate the adjustment
plate to change the
restrictor position.

Remove the four screws above
the air inlets inside the firebox.
Attach the damper plates to the back wall of
the firebox with the screws removed earlier.
