Method:
1. Start logging with the datalogging software.
2. Allow the data to be collected for the predetermined length of time.
3. Stop logging.
4. Save or print the results.
Hint: During a short environmental study, you can discuss the effects of opening windows or indeed closing them (during the summer)
to see what effect this has. You could even close/open a window without drawing this to the students attention and see if this can be
detected on the resultant graph.
Results:
Did the temperature change?
Did the light level change?
Did the changes take place at the same time.
When was it the coldest ?
Did anything happen after you left school or before you arrived ?
Was it always hot or cold at certain times ?
Going further:
Try the experiment on different days in the week.
Try the experiment at different times of the year e.g. Autumn, Spring,
Summer and Winter.
Move the Black Box somewhere else in the class and see if this effect the results - if it did, why ?
Monitor outside the school or in other rooms such as the hall or gym.
Produce a display of results showing pictures of what happened at certain times along the graph and link this to the school timetable.
