PETROL INJECTION
Immobiliser function

These vehicles are equipped with second-generation
engine immobiliser systems. The injection computers
must be programmed with the immobiliser code for
them to work.
I -REPLACING AN INJECTION COMPUTER
The computers are supplied uncoded. When a com-
puter is replaced it must be programmed with the ve-
hicle code, then checked to ensure that the
immobiliser function is working properly.
To do this, switch on the ignition for a few seconds
without starting the engine and then switch it off.
II - CHECKING THE STATUS OF THE COMPUTER
(CODED OR UNCODED)
Using the diagnostic tool, it is possible to check the
status of the injection computer.
- Connect the diagnostic tool to the diagnostic soc-
ket.
- Select and confirm the vehicle type.
- Select and confirm « petrol injection ».
- Choose the « status » option:
• i f s t a t u s E T 0 9 9 «
immobiliser code
programmed » is inactive, this indicates that the
injection computer has not been coded,
• if status ET002 « engine immobiliser » is active,
it is impossible to start the engine.

WARNING
- The injection computer retains the immobiliser
code for life.
- The system has no security code.
- It is forbidden to perform tests with computers
borrowed from the Parts Department or from
another car which must then be returned. These
computers are permanently coded.
