INSTALLATION
Position the chlorinator power pack at least 1m above ground level and at
least 2m from the pool edge. Protect the unit from direct weather and sun.
If supply cord is damaged, it shall be replaced by the manufacturer or its
service agent or similarly qualifi ed person in order to avoid a hazard.
The Lincoln Cell must be fi tted in the return to pool line after and above
the fi lter and should a pool heater be used the cell must be fi tted after
the heater. The Lincoln Cell can be positioned horizontally or vertically;
however the preferred method is horizontally (as illustrated).
The cell lead connects directly to the junction box on the back of the
chlorinator power pack. Make sure that the wires are colour matched
correctly and that the connections are tight.
The Lincoln chlorinator must be connected to the correct supply voltage
as indicated on the rear of the unit. CAUTION : CHECK THIS VOLTAGE
CAREFULLY
Add suffi cient salt to give a salinity reading of
4
000ppm (approximately
2
0kg of salt per 5000l). Start with less and test before you add additional
salt.
INSTALLATION OVERVIEW
My eyes are burning when I swim and I can smell the chlorine strongly.
If your eyes are burning then there may be too much chlorine in the pool.
Check chlorine level and adjust. If too high, you may be running the
chlorinator for too long or your water is out of balance.
Check water blance and adjust as necessary. Possibly reduce the number
of hours you chlorinate the pool (colder months generally require less
chlorination than warmer months).

Use of Multi-Speed or Variable Speed Pumps
If you have installed this type of pump you may be required to reduce the
output of the Chlorinator. Multi/Variable speed pumps are designed to
operate for longer periods at reduced power levels, giving the owner
savings on power consumption. This however will make your Chlorinator
operate for longer periods resulting in undue wear to the electrode/cell,
also if the chlorinator is left at 100% output you will be over-chlorinating
your pool. As a general rule of thumb, if you set your pump to 50% also
set your chlorinator to 50% and so on, you can then adjust your
chlorinator up or down based on your pools performance.
