Cable Box Connection Panel

Option C:
Cable Service with Cable Box using “AUDIO/VIDEO OUTPUT” jacks
1. Connect “Cable Box” to the HD DVR
Connect the “Cable TV” jack to the “CABLE IN” jack on your Cable Box with a coaxial RF cable.
Connect the “AUDIO OUT” and “VIDEO OUT” jacks from your Cable Box to the “A/V IN 1”
jacks on the HD DVR with RCA-type cables. (
Note:
The HD DVR cannot receive program
information if you connect the “VIDEO OUT” jacks from your Cable Box to the “A/V IN 2”
jacks on the HD DVR.)
Insert the G-LINK cable into the G-LINK port. (
Note:
If there is a “demo pin” in the
G-LINK port, remove it to disable demo mode.)
Place the other end of the G-LINK cable with the G-LINK wand in front of your Cable Box
in such a way as to allow for an unrestricted path for the IR (infrared) signals to be able
to reach the front panel of the Cable Box.
To watch unscrambled cable broadcasting (optional):
connect the “LOOP OUT” from the
cable box (if available) to the “CABLE IN” jack on the HD DVR with a coaxial RF cable, or use
a splitter (see page 20 of the owner’s manual).
2. Set up TV Guide On Screen System
For TV Guide On Screen System setup, follow the instructions:
“Do you have cable service?” select “Yes”.
“Is a cable box connected?” select “Yes”.
“What is your HD DVR tuned to when using the cable box?” select “A/V1”.
Select your cable box brand from the list.
Note:
Program information will normally be available after allowing the HD DVR to collect
program data overnight while the unit is turned off.

Option A:
Over-the-air Reception(No Cable Service)
1. Set up TV Guide On Screen

For TV Guide On Screen System setup, follow the instructions:
When you see the question “Do you have cable service?”, select “No”.
Note:
Program information will normally be available after allowing the HD DVR to collect
program data overnight while the unit is turned off.
Option B:
Cable Service without Cable Box
1. Connect “Cable TV” to the HD DVR
You can watch unscrambled cable broadcasting if you connect the “Cable TV” jack to the
“CABLE IN” jack on the HD DVR with a coaxial RF cable.

the instructions:
“Do you have cable service?” select “Yes”.
“Is a cable box connected?” select “No”.
