Connection to a
mixing console's
effects sends
If you will be using a PCM 81 as your primary effects unit, and your system
includes a console with one or more auxiliary (effects) sends, connect the PCM
81 as shown above. In most applications, it is preferable to connect the PCM
81 outputs to two of the console's input channel strips, panned full left and right,
rather than to the effects returns. This allows the greatest flexibility in routing and
equalization.
In this configuration the console controls are used to set the amount of effect
heard—the PCM 81's MIX control should be set for 100% wet. To assign a global
MIX setting:
1. Press Control.
2. Press Up or Down until 1.x is displayed in the lower left of the display and
System is displayed on the upper line.
3. Turn SELECT until System Mix Mode is displayed on the upper line. 1.1 will
be displayed in the lower left.
4. Turn ADJUST until the lower line reads:
1.1
✱
Global
5. Press Load /
✱
to show the current global setting of MIX; use ADJUST to set
it to 100% wet.
