3. Insert a new battery until it clicks into place, and then ensure that the latches are at the locked position.
4. Turn the computer over again. Connect the ac power adapter and all cables to the computer.
Replacing the base cover assembly
Before you start, print these instructions. Read the important safety information first. See “Important
safety information” on page vi.
Note: Depending on the model, your computer might look slightly different from the illustrations in this topic.
To replace the base cover assembly, do the following:
1. Disable the built-in battery. See “Disabling the built-in battery” on page 123.
2. Close the computer display, and turn the computer over.
3. Remove the removable battery. See “Replacing the removable battery” on page 125.
4. Loosen the screws that secure the base cover assembly in ascending alphabetical order (a to h) as
illustrated.
