Use the instructions shipped with the option to help you make the connection and install any software
or device drivers that are required for the option.
Replacing the ac power adapter
Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the Chapter
1 “Read this first: Important safety information” on page 1.
To replace the ac power adapter, do the following:
1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the computer. Then, disconnect
all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the computer.
2. Remove the ac power adapter cable from the ac power adapter cable loop at the rear of the computer
and then disconnect the ac power adapter from the computer.

3. Connect the new ac power adapter to the ac power adapter connector at the rear of your computer
and a workable electrical outlet. Then, secure the ac power adapter cable into the ac power adapter
cable loop at the rear of the computer as shown.
Removing the computer cover
Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the Chapter
1 “Read this first: Important safety information” on page 1.
CAUTION:
Before you open the computer cover, turn off the computer and wait several minutes until the
computer is cool.
To remove the computer cover, do the following:
