Replacing an adapter card
Attention

This section provides instructions on how to replace an adapter card.
To replace an adapter card:
1. Open the computer cover. See “Opening the computer cover” on page 103.
2. Rotate the adapter card retainer to the open position and then remove the old adapter card that
is currently installed.
Notes:
a. The adapter card fits tightly into the adapter card slot. If necessary, alternate moving each side of
the adapter card a small amount until it is removed from the slot.
b. If the adapter card is held in place by a retaining latch, press the adapter card retaining latch

downwards to disengage the latch. Grasp the adapter card and then carefully pull the adapter
card out of the slot.
