Memory module
Attention:
Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the Chapter
1 “Read this first: Important safety information” on page 1.
Your computer has 12 slots for installing DDR4 RDIMMs that provide up to a maximum of 384 GB system
memory. When removing or installing a memory module, use the following guidelines:
• Use 8 GB, 16 GB, or 32 GB DDR4 ECC RDIMMs in any combination up to a maximum of 384 GB.
• If your computer has only one microprocessor installed, install memory modules only in the memory slots
next to that microprocessor following the recommended installation order.
Note:
Ensure that the microprocessor is installed into the correct microprocessor socket (
18
Microprocessor 1). See “Parts on the system board” on page 38.
• If your computer has two microprocessors installed, install equal numbers of memory modules in both
sets of microprocessor DIMM slots for maximum performance.
