4.1.1 Air Cylinder Mode Select Switches
Figure 14 Cylinder Switches
These toggle switches control the air cylinders that move the Hot Air Module and Upper Wheel
Module. Normally these are set in the AUTO position, which means that the foot pedals control
the in-and-out motion of the air cylinders.
You can exert manual control of the air cylinders, by placing the toggle switch in the IN or OUT
position for the nozzle or the ON or OFF for the WELD or CLAMP PRESSURE. For the nozzle this
switch overrides the computer commands and brings the weld air nozzle in or out of the weld
head area, depending on the switch position selected. IN brings the nozzle into the weld area;
OUT backs the nozzle out and away from the weld area. The other 2 switches apply or disable
CLAMP PRESSURE, WELD PRESSURE, or both, regardless of computer commands. Placing either
switch in the ON position exerts weld and/or clamp pressure to the cylinder and OFF removes
weld and/or clamp pressure.
