Removing and replacing the carburetor
1. Remove the rubber weatherstrip from the top of the lower cover and
flex the cover for additional clearance if needed.
2. With a 16mm wrench, remove the fuel line to carburetor banjo bolt

and two rubber washers

. Inside the carburetor fuel inlet are two
filters, a fine mesh screen

and a bronze disc

Be careful to not lose the
filters if removed from the
inlet. If removed, clean and
install them with the mesh
screen going in the inlet first,
followed by the bronze filter.
3. Unscrew the throttle cable cap

out of the top of the carburetor and
remove the cable

, and slide assembly

To provide clearance to remove the assembly, twist the throttle grip to
the wide open throttle (WOT) position.
This will retract the slide and provide clearance for the throttle cable
to clear the bottle bracket.
If replacing the carburetor, always use the
new slide that comes with the new carberator.
4. To remove the old slide and needle from the throttle cable core wire,
the small brass retainer pin

in the slide body

must be removed.
