5. Continue to remove the carburetor by removing the 2 carburetor thru
bolts with a 10mm wrench or socket. These bolts pass through the air
silencer, the carburetor body and into the cylinder head.
Use care as you remove the carburetor and air silencer as there is a
gasket between the air silencer and the carb body and another gasket
between the carburetor and the cylinder head; retain these gaskets.
6. For re-assembly, reverse the dis-assembly order.
B. The throttle spring, slide, and needle assembly are now free from
the throttle cable and cap. Reverse the order to reassemble the
new slide assembly to the throttle cable.
A. Orient the slide with the brass retainer pin

pointing down, then
compress the spring with the slide

and jiggle it until the pin
drops out, releasing the throttle cable core wire.

The clearance between the 1st stage of the carbu-
retor body and the engine block is minimal.
Contact may cause an air leak where the carburetor flange
mates up to the cylinder head surface.
Before tightening up the carburetor completely, slightly rotate
the carb body counter clockwise to prevent contact between
the two surfaces.
