7. Troubleshooting
In the event that your LaCie Dupli Disc CD121 is not working correctly, please refer to the following checklist to find out where
the problem is coming from. If you have gone through all of the points on the checklist and your drive is still not working
correctly, please have a look at the FAQs that are regularly published on our Web site –
www.lacie.com
. One of these FAQs
may provide an answer to your specific question. You can also visit the drivers pages, where the most recent software updates
will be available.
If you need further assistance, please contact LaCie Technical Support (see
8. Contacting Customer Service
for details).
7.1. Issues With Stand-Alone Use
When an error occurs with the CD media or with one of the drives, the LaCie Dupli Disc CD121 will emit a continuous series
of long beeps. When an error occurs, the discs will not be ejected automatically, and the beeping will not stop until your press
the tray open button. If you encounter an error during test duplication, or during an actual duplication, we recommend
turning off the LaCie Dupli Disc CD121 to reset it and then attempt the duplication process again. Should you experience this
problem again, please note carefully which LEDs are blinking and refer to the section below to troubleshoot the error.
7.2. Issues When Connected To Your Computer
The Problem
The CD-RW drive of the LaCie Dupli
Disc CD121 is not recognized.
Questions to Ask
Does an icon for the Dupli’s CD-RW
drive appear on the computer? (On a
Mac a CD-ROM must be inserted in the
drive)
Is the Dupli connected to your computer?
Is the drive powered up?
Possible Solutions
Check for an icon on the Desktop (on a
Mac) or in My Computer (on a PC).
If the LaCie Dupli Disc CD121’s LEDs are
on or blinking, the LaCie Dupli Disc
CD121 is set up for stand-alone duplica-
tion. To connect your LaCie Dupli Disc
CD121 to your computer, turn it off, wait
a few moments, and turn it on again. If
there are no front-panel LEDs blinking,
the LaCie Dupli Disc CD121 is connected
to your computer.
Check the drive’s power cable. Make
sure the Power LED is on.
