Arm Reach and Gripper Capacity
The automated arm is capable of reaching a roller cart 60
inches away from the vehicle and its
maximum lifting capacity is 450
lbs. The gripper is capable of picking up roller carts from 32 to
95
gallons in size.
Loading Procedure
To load refuse into the hopper:
1.
Stop the vehicle so that the arm is lined up with the roller cart.
The distance between the vehicle and the roller cart can be up to 5
feet.
2.
With the arm parked alongside the truck, use the joystick to extend the arm up to the cart.
The operator MUST depress the deadman switch in order to enable the joystick functions (see
3.
Grab the cart by closing the gripper.
To do so, use the left push-button on the backside of the joystick (see
4.
Raise the roller cart by about two feet above the ground.
5.
Fully retract the lifting arm and raise it until the cart tips into the hopper.
The garbage should then fall down.
Ensure that the roller cart is empty before returning it back to the ground.
6.
Lower back the cart to about two feet above the ground.
7.
Extend and lower the lifting arm to place the cart back to where it was.
Use the right push-button on the backside of the joystick to open the gripper and release the cart.
8.
After putting back the cart, retract the lifting arm.
Warning!
Never
by-pass the deadman switch with tape, tie-wrap, or anything else in order to
operate the arm.
Caution!
Always make sure that the gripper is open before it gets to the roller cart.
Warning!
Do not open the gripper while lifting up the roller cart. If you do the cart will fall down,
causing possible injury and/or equipment damage.
