FLIGHT CHECKOUT PROCEDURE
Execution of a flight test may be required to approve/certify the FA2100 CVR installation.
A predetermined list of words and phrases used during normal pre-flight and in-flight operations should
be prepared for use by the cockpit crew. It is important for participants to bear in mind that, to obtain a
satisfactory recording on the area microphone channel, clear enunciation in a natural voice is essential.
8.1
Operational Notes
Depending on its part number, the FA2100 CVR will preserve 30- or 120-minutes of recorded
information. A test program not exceeding 30- or 120-minutes of recording time, depending on recorder
version, should be planned prior to the test flight. The FA2100 CVR circuit breaker may be pulled and
reset as required to preserve the test recording on longer flights.
The Test Director shall announce time and condition into the area microphone at the start of each
condition, identify any significant events or warnings, and encourage conversation between crew
members.
