OPERATION
The throttle grip must be returned to the fully closed
position each time you shift. Squeeze the clutch le-
ver and press down or lift up with your left foot to
shift the transmission.
5. Before moving into traffic, indicate your intended direction
with your turn signals, and check the conditions to see if it
is safe to proceed.

Moderate riding habits will prolong the service life of
your motorcycle. Aggressive riding will prematurely
wear items such as the clutch and the brake pads.
During the first 600 miles of riding, keep your road speed
below 50 MPH to allow the engine to break in fully, so it
will perform properly in the future.
6. You must coordinate your use of the throttle, and the front

and rear

brakes in order to safely decrease your
motorcycle’s speed as you ride. Both the front and rear
brakes should be applied simultaneously. Independent use
of only the front or rear brake reduces stopping perfor-
mance.
