The roller controls the working depth of the machine and at the same time gives a
fine tilth and compacts the surface of the soil.
To adjust height : shorten or lengthen bar (item 13, page 14).
To adjust length : release the two bolts on the side of each arms, adjust the roller
as required and then retighten the bolts.
The roller arms are held on one side by the lateral gearbox (A) and on the other side
by the right-hand side plate (B). The component parts of these are shown below :
1 = Self-locking screw M 12 x 35 mm 6 = Hexagon screw M 12 x 30 mm
2 = Hexagon screw M 16 x 35 mm 7 = Hexagon nut M 12
3 = Hexagon screw M 12 x 70 mm 8 = Spring washer M 12
4 = Hexagon nut M 12 9 = Hexagon screw M 12 x 50 mm
5 = Spring washer M 12 10 = Hexagon screw M 12 x 40 mm
11 = Hexagon screw M 12 x 60 mm
1) Crumbler roller
This roller is particularly for use in dry or slightly humid conditions. It is
recommended to remove the bars when working in wet conditions to avoid roller clogging
up with mud.
Removal is carried out as follows :
- Drive out the inner roll pin.
- Release the bar by tapping out with a mallet.
- Pull the bar completely out.
- Replacement of the bars is a direct reversal of the above procedure.
