General Safety Instructions (Cont.)

Safe usage

CAUTION: Hot!

•  Assembly:

Only operate the appliance when all parts are properly

assembled. Improper assembly and the use of accessory attachments not
recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric
shock, personal injury and/or damage to the unit.

•  Inner pot:

Only cook in the removable inner cooking pot; do not use any other

pot inside the appliance. Never heat the inner pot on another thermal source. If
the inner pot is damaged or dented, contact our after sales support centre and
arrange purchase of a new pot. To prevent scratching the non-stick surface,
always use wooden, silicone or plastic utensils; never use metal objects.

•  Housing:

Never place food or liquid in the appliance housing. Only the

removable inner pot is designed to hold food or liquid.

•  Lid:

Do not allow water from the lid to drip into the appliance housing. Do

not place anything on top of the lid or the steam vent when the appliance is
in use.

•  Placement:

Always place the appliance on a level, stable and heat resistant

work surface during operation. Do not place it on, in or near a hot gas or
electric burner, heated oven, hotplate or other heat source. Do not place it
near the edge of a bench or table. Do not place it on a sink drain board.

•  Flammable items:

Do not use the appliance near flammable objects such

as drapes or curtains. Do not cover the appliance with anything but the lid.
Do not place anything on top of the lid.

•  Capacity:

Do not fill the inner pot right to the top, especially when cooking

foods that expand during cooking. Only fill up to the maximum 1.8L mark.

•  Do not touch:

The temperature of accessible surfaces, including the

lid, will be high during use and for some time after it. Do not touch hot
surfaces, use handles, knobs and oven mitts.

•  Lid:

Always use the appliance covered unless your recipe/instructions

state otherwise. Position the lid so the steam vent is directed away from
you during use. When opening the lid, take due care to avoid scalding from
escaping steam.

•  Steam vent:

During or immediately after cooking, the area near the steam

vent hole remains very hot. To avoid burns, do not touch this area.

•  Moving the appliance:

Exercise caution when moving the appliance

containing hot oil or other hot liquids. Do not move it during cooking.
