19.1 Checking the engine oil level

Oil consumption depends on the riding style and the operating conditions.
Condition
The engine is at operating temperature.
Preparatory work
–
Stand the motorcycle upright on a horizontal surface.

Main work
–
Check the engine oil level in the engine oil level viewer.
Info
After switching off the engine, wait one minute before checking the level.
The engine oil level should be in the upper area

of the engine oil level viewer.
» When the engine oil level is in area

of the engine oil level viewer:
–
Do not add engine oil.
» When the engine oil level is in area

of the engine oil level viewer:
–
Engine oil can be added.
» When the engine oil level is in area

of the engine oil level viewer:
–
Add engine oil. ( p. 170)
