2.4 Safety Barrier Screen and Surrounds
2.4.1 Safety Barriers
WARNING: A barrier designed to reduce the risk of burns from the hot
viewing glass is provided with this appliance and shall be installed for
the protection of children and other at-risk individuals.
If the barrier becomes damaged, the barrier shall be replaced with
Hussong Mfg. Co., Inc.’s barriers for this appliance.
2.4.2 Surrounds (optional)
IMPORTANT: Consider the height of hearth finish material when
building a fireplace platform. If using a safety screen only, the hearth
may be flush with the finishing edge. If using a surround, the bottom
of the fireplace surround must be level with finished hearth extension
for proper fit of the optional surround. Refer to section
GUIDELINES FOR OPTIONAL SURROUNDS
on page 36 for proper
fitting.
