Sending a document overseas
When a fax is sent over extremely long distances, the transmission quality
can be impaired by interference in the telephone lines. Interference can
be avoided by reducing the fax transmission speed.
Reducing the fax transmission speed

Insert the document into the
document feeder and adjust the
document guide accordingly.

Press the [MENU] key.

Press the [#] key.
A beep will be heard. The fax
transmission speed is now reduced.

Start the fax transmission in the
normal way.

Fax transmission speed permanently altered?
A change of transmission speed only applies to the present fax
transmission.
By the way! Interference caused by poor quality telephone lines can
also be avoided by reducing the fax transmission speed.
