To specify the mode for overwriting temporary data
The mode for overwriting temporary data can be selected.
Temporary data is unnecessary data saved on the disk temporarily while
copying and scanning.

In the Administrator Setting screen, touch [9 Security Setting].

In the Security Setting screen, touch [5 HDD Setting].

In the HDD Setting screen, touch [4 Temporary Data Overwrite Setting].
The Temporary Data Overwrite Setting screen appears.

Select the desired mode, and then touch [OK].

Select “Mode 1” to overwrite the data once with simple data, then
delete the data.
–
Select “Mode 2” to overwrite the data many times, then delete the
data after the correctness of the overwriting has been verified.

Note
The mode specified on the Temporary Data Overwrite Setting screen is
enabled after “Overwrite Temporary Data” on the Security Details screen
is set to “ON”. For details, refer to “Specifying Security Details Parame-
ters” on page 9-21.
