9. Install the Finished Wall
For Bath Only Installations
NOTE:
When applying water-resistant wall material over the bath flanges, maintain a 1/4
″
(6 mm) gap
between the bath surface and water-resistant wall material as shown in the illustration. This gap serves as
a contact barrier if water should ever seep behind the applied sealant.
Brush all dust and debris from the bath flange.
Cover the remaining flanges around the bath with water-resistant wall material. Maintain a 1/4
″
(6
mm) gap between the bath surface and bottom edge of the wall material.
Install the finished wall or tile over the water-resistant wall material. Maintain a 1/8
″
(3 mm) gap
between the finished wall material and the bath surface.
Seal the 1/8
″
(3 mm) gap between the bath surface and finished wall with clear 100% silicone
sealant. Allow the sealant to set according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
10. Finish the Installation
IMPORTANT! Risk of property damage.
Make sure that a watertight seal has formed around the drain
and overflow.
IMPORTANT! Risk of product or property damage.
When installing accessories, follow the
manufacturers’ instructions. Improperly installed accessories could cause leaks, and may void the
warranty.
Connect the drain to the trap according to the drain manufacturer’s instructions.
Install the faucet trim, bath spout, shower door, and any accessories according to each
manufacturer’s instructions.
Remove the protective covering from the bath.
