7. Apply Silicone Sealant
IMPORTANT!
Use a clear 100% silicone sealant. Latex, caulk, or siliconized latex sealants may not provide
water and mildew resistance over the life of the product.

Do not allow the sealant to set before the end walls are installed. After applying the
sealant, immediately proceed to the

Install the Wall Surrounds

section of this guide.
NOTE:
Sealant will compensate for out-of-plumb walls and exposure to water at the bath flange area. The
sealant will be hidden when the wall surrounds are installed, and will eliminate future maintenance.
Clean and dry the outer few inches of the bath flange where the end walls will be installed.
Apply an L-shaped bead of clear 100% silicone sealant at each outer end of the bath flange where
the end walls will be installed. Apply the bead so it is a minimum of 1/4
″
(6 mm) wide and 1
″
(2.5
cm) by 4
″
(10.2 cm) long, as shown in the illustration.
