7 Maintenance
7.1 General
Attention!
• Only use Teflon spray or silicon spray for lubricating the
moving parts. Never use oil, grease or other lubricants as
these attract dirt and dust.
Tip
• If your pushchair has been involved in an accident, please
pay a visit to your Koelstra dealer to have the pushchair
checked for any technical faults.
• Lubricate the moving parts regularly. This will prolong the
life of your pushchair.
• Regularly check that all the parts of your pushchair are
functioning properly.
• The Koelstra upholstery is dirt and water-resistant.
7.2 Cleaning
Caution!
• Do not bleach or dry clean the upholstery.
• Clean the pushchair immediately after it has been used in
a sandy environment with salty water (for example at the
seaside). Sand can damage moving parts and/or the
locking devices. Salt will cause metal parts to rust.
• If wet, dry the unfolded upholstery in a dark room to
prevent discolouring.
Tip
• Stains can be removed using a mild detergent or soap
stick.
General:
• Use a damp cloth to remove stains on the upholstery.
• Regularly clean the frame, the moving parts and the
wheels.
• First remove the coarse sand and dirt with a soft brush.
• Dry the pushchair with a soft cloth after cleaning.
7.3 Washing in the washing machine
Caution!
• Do not bleach or dry clean the upholstery.
• Do not use a conditioner when washing the upholstery.
• Wash the upholstery with matching colours.
• Do not iron the upholstery.
• Do not dry the upholstery in a tumble-drier or spin-drier.
Attention!
• Washing the upholstery too often can make the colours
fade.
1. Disassemble the 5-point safety harness and the
upholstery following the steps in section 6.9.
2. Place the 5-point safety harness in a wash bag.
3. Wash the upholstery and the 5-point safety harness in
the washing machine with a programme for delicate
fabrics at 30°C.
4. Run your hand over the upholstery to remove as many
creases as possible.
5. Dry the upholstery in a dark room to prevent discolouring.
6. Assemble the upholstery and the 5-point safety harness
following the steps in section 6.10.
7.4 Wheels
Caution!
• Never use the pushchair if a tyre has a puncture.
• Ensure that the inner tubes have the correct pressure (see
chapter 9 ‘Technical specifications’).
Attention!
• Flat tyres tend to wear more quickly.
• New inner tyres are available from your Koelstra dealer or
a specialist bicycle shop.
• If your bicycle pump does not fit the valve of the tyres,
you can obtain adapters from your Koelstra dealer or a
specialist bicycle shop.
• Repair a puncture the same way as you would repair a
puncture with your bicycle.
