1. Stop the engine and remove the key.
2. Apply moderate thumb pressure to
the belt between pulleys.
3. If tension is incorrect, loosen the al-
ternator mounting bolts and, using a
lever placed between the alternator
and the engine block, pull the alter-
nator out until the deflection of the
belts falls within acceptable limits.
4. Replace the fan belt if it is damaged
or cracked.
ADJUSTING BRAKE PEDAL
1. Lightly press the center of the pedal
and measure the free play of the
brake pedal edge.
2. If needed, adjust the free play by
changing the length of linkage the
master cylinder .
3. After adjusting, tighten the lock nut
firmly.
