Description
This manual gives installation and wiring information for the
KZ705R Mounting Base (with relay) for use in intrusion
systems.
Installation
Note:
For general guidelines on fire system planning, design,
installation, commissioning, use and maintenance refer to the
EN 54-14 (2001) standard and local regulations.
Placement and spacing
Install the base near the centre of the room or hall whenever
possible. Always place the base a minimum of 100 mm from
any wall. When the base is wall mounted, the top of the base
should be 100-300 mm from the ceiling.
When more than one detector is used, use the spacing of 9 m
as a guide on smooth ceilings. Other spacing may be used
depending on ceiling height, high air movement, and other
conditions or response requirements.
Wiring
Caution:
To ensure correct operation of your system, you
must follow the recommended cabling practices described
below.
The cable used should be 1.5 mm² twisted pair cable or
screened cable if risk of interference. Note that the internal
cable feed is not centered.
Direct cable connection
For direct cable connection, break the plastic cable entry tab,
as shown in Figure 2. The maximum cable width is 10 mm.
The mounting base also allows for direct cable and tube
connection using a S700 adaptor (not supplied).
Connection
Connect the mounting base as shown in Figure 1.
Installing the detector head
To install a detector head, insert the head and rotate it
clockwise until it is properly aligned and “sets” into the base as
shown in Figure 3. Rotate it further clockwise to lock it in place.
