When the solenoid valve closes the pressure equalizes, allowing the diaphragm to close. As the pulse
of air is fi red through the manifold and down the tubes located above the fi lter bag, the pulse creates a
shock eff ect that dislodges dust and foreign material that is caked on the outside of the fi lter bags (see
Figure 13).
