Output relay
Digital Control pins 1 and 2 can be programmed to function as an output relay. All pins are referenced to the Signal
Common pin.
When the output of the power supply is turned off, it is implemented by setting the output to 0 volts and 0.02 amps.
This gives a zero-output voltage without actually disconnecting the output. To disconnect the output, an external
relay must be connected between the output and the load. A TTL signal of either low true or high true is provided to
control an external relay. This signal can only be controlled with the remote command OUTPut:RELay OFF | ON. The
TTL output is available on the Digital IO pin 1 for channel 1 and pin 2 for channel 2. When the OUTPut:RELay state is
“ON” on channel 1, the TTL output of pin 1 is high if the Polarity is positive and pin 1 is low if the Polarity is negative.
The levels are reversed when the OUTPut:RELay state is “OFF”.
From the front panel:
1. Press
Utilities

I/O Config

Digital IO
to access the Digital I/O window.
2. Select the pin you wish to configure. For example, press
Pin 1
to configure Pin 1.
3. Press
Function
and select
Relay
. Select and program the remaining pins in the same manner. Press
Back
to
return to previous page.
4. Configure the polarity for each of the pin. Press
Polarity Pos
to select Positive and
Polarity Neg
to select
Negative. Select and program the remaining pins in the same manner.
