Setting the Capture Options

Keysight U4301 PCIe Gen3 Analyzer User’s Guide

Situation

Recommended Solution

One direction starts training before the other direction. This results in the trace
being filled up with training sequences before the other direction even
starts.

Consequently, the trace has non-overlapped data even if the trimming is

enabled in the capture setup.

Set up the trigger such that the capture starts only when both the directions start
transmitting data so that overlapping data can be obtained in the trace.

There was no overlapping data available for the two directions.

NOTE

When testing L0s/L1, ensure that you:
- set manual lane polarity.
- select a fixed capture link speed instead of the Auto speed.
