Connector Wear
Connector wear eventually degrades performance. The more use a connector
gets, the faster it wears and degrades. The wear is greatly accelerated when
connectors are not kept clean.
Calibration devices should have a long life if their usage is a few times per
week. The test port connectors on your network analyzer test set may have
many connections each day, and therefore, are more subject to wear. It is
recommended that an adapter be used as a test port saver. The use of an
adapter will help to minimize the wear on your test set's connectors. When
your connectors become worn, replace them.
