Setting up the system
Connecting the antennas
AM loop antenna
The supplied loop antenna is for use indoors. Place it as far as possible
from the receiver, TV set, speaker cords and power cord, and adjust
the direction for best reception.
FM indoor antenna
The supplied indoor antenna is for temporary use only. For stable
signal reception we recommend using an outdoor antenna. Disconnect
the indoor antenna when you connect one outdoors.
FM outdoor antenna
Lead the 75 Ω coaxial cable connected to the FM outdoor antenna into
the room and connect it to the FM 75
Ω
terminal.

Speaker settings
To enable you to obtain optimum enjoyment from the amplifier’s listen-
ing modes, make sure to complete the speaker settings (Subwoofer,
Front, Center, Surround and Surround Back speakers) as described
below.

Turn on the power to this amplifier by pressing the ON/
STANDBY key or POWER key.

The Surround Back and Subwoofer output selections are displayed
as follows:

BS/SW SW : SW/BS speaker terminal will output
Subwoofer sound.
2 BS/SW BS : SW/BS speaker terminal will output Sur-
round Back sound. SW PREOUT will have
output from SW only.

BS/SW OFF : It is not advisable to use SW/BS speaker
terminal for this selection.
