Common Troubleshooting Steps

1. Reboot computer.

2. Unplug and re-plug receiver.

3. Re-establish the wireless connections between the mouse, keyboard

and receiver.

4. Test batteries in another device. If they are low or drained,

replace them.

5. Test the device on another computer.

6. Adjust the position of the receiver to improve wireless range. Large

metal objects, radio towers, and other environmental factors may
hinder wireless range.

7. Some surfaces may “trick” the optical sensor, such as high gloss

wood and reflective surfaces like glass or mirrors. The ideal surface
is a bright white surface (such as a piece of paper).

Additional Information on Hotkey Performance

System Requirements—The Kensington Optical Wireless Desktop for
Mac requires iTunes 3.0 or greater in order to function properly.

Play/Pause

—CDs appear in iTunes as a second playlist. If iTunes is

running when you insert the CD, the CD playlist is automatically selected.
If iTunes is NOT running when you insert the CD, and you have the CDs &
DVDs System Preference pane set to launch iTunes when you insert a
music CD, it will launch iTunes, but it will not select the CD playlist.
The Play/Pause, Next Track, and Previous Track apply to the currently
selected playlist.

Previous Track

—If at the beginning of a track, goes to the beginning of

the previous track. If not at the beginning of a track, goes to the beginning
of the current track.

Note:

The Next track/Previous track functions do not

effect the Play/Pause state.

Back/Forward/Refresh

—In order for these functions to work, the front

most window working must be the browser window.

Web/Home

—Goes to the Home Page specified in the Internet settings

in System Preferences. It does launch the browser if necessary. The
Web/Home button will do nothing if no Home Page has been defined in
System Preferences.

Email

—Launches the default Email Reader program defined in the

Internet setting in System Preferences.
