General Safety Instructions

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

READ CAREFULLY AND KEEP FOR FUTURE REFERENCE

Read this manual thoroughly before first use

, even if you are familiar with this

type of product. The safety precautions enclosed herein reduce the risk of fire,

electric shock and injury when correctly adhered to.

Keep the manual in a safe

place for future reference

, along with any warranty information, your purchase

receipt and the original carton. If you sell or transfer ownership of this product,

pass on these instructions to the new owner.
Always follow basic safety precautions and accident prevention measures
when using an electrical appliance, including the following:

Electrical safety and cord handling

•  Voltage: Before connecting the electric blanket, ensure your outlet voltage and

circuit frequency correspond to the voltage stated on the product rating label.

•  Water: To protect against fire and electric shock, do not immerse the cord,

plug or controller in water or other liquid. Never switch on the electric blanket
if it is moist or wet. Allow the blanket to dry completely before using it. Keep
the controller away from open windows.

•  No extension cord: Do not use the blanket with an extension cord unless this

extension cord has been checked and tested by a qualified electrician.

•  Power cord: Do not pull or carry the blanket by its power cord. Do not pull the

cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not attempt to expose internal wires.

•  Controller: Only use the electric blanket with the detachable controller

supplied, which forms part of the electric blanket.

•  Placement of controller, cord and plug: Keep the controller away from an

open window. Ensure that both the controller and the power cord are kept
outside the bed as far as practicable. Make sure that at all times the flexible
supply plug is adjacent and accessible to the main power outlet.

•  Handle with care: Avoid sharp objects. Do not insert pins or any sharp

objects into the electric blanket as they may damage the electrical wiring.

•  Disconnect: Unplug the blanket from the power outlet when not in use and

before cleaning or storage. Pull by the plug, never pull the cord.

•  RCD: Unless your home is already fitted with a residual current device (safety

switch), we recommend installing an RCD with a rated residual operating
current not exceeding 30mA to provide additional safety protection when
using electrical appliances. See your electrician for professional advice.
