sends 10Gbit Ethernet packets and verifies the received packets. The IP have a counter for received
and transmitted packets. In case the received and transmitted packet counters match the LED of the
specific port will be Green. In case the counters mismatch, the LED will be Red.
The test status and control signals of the traffic generator and tester are pulled to Signal TAP and In
System Sources and Probes IP.

Using the reference design
The reference design was designed for Quartus 64-Bit 15.0. In case other Quartus version is used,
some Altera IPS might be need to be updated.
To use the reference design, please follow the following steps:
1.
Make sure Quartus II is installed on your PC.
2.
Install KOMODO Fiber board into the PC.
3.
Connect the USB Blaster cable (or USB-Blaster II cable) to the KOMODO Fiber board and
host PC. Install the USB Blaster driver if necessary
4.
Power on the PC
5.
Using Quartus programmer, load the ky_komodo_fiber.sof to the board. The file is located
under fpga_reference_design \output_files\ folder in the software CD
6.
Open ky_komodo_fiber.stp file to view the status signals
7.
Open ky_komodo_fiber.spf file to control the Ethernet traffic generator
8.
The LEDs of the board should indicate the statuses as described in Table 22.
