CRUISE CONTROL
WARNING:
Do not use cruise control
in traffic conditions where a constant
speed cannot easily be maintained or on
winding or slippery road surfaces.
WARNING:
It remains the driver’s
responsibility to always ensure that
a safe speed is maintained within the
speed limit, taking account of traffic and
road conditions.
WARNING:
Cruise control should not
be used in ice and snow conditions.
Cruise control enables you to maintain a
constant road speed without using the
accelerator pedal. This is particularly useful
for any journey where a constant speed
can be maintained for lengthy periods.
Note:
It is important to remember that it is
possible for the vehicle to increase speed
when traveling downhill. This may result in
the vehicle speed exceeding the set speed.
Cruise control is controlled by the switches
on the steering wheel.
ENGAGING CRUISE CONTROL
To engage cruise control, the vehicle’s
speed must be between 20 mph (32 km/h)
and 90 mph (145 km/h).
1.
Accelerate until your desired cruising
speed is reached.
2.
Press the thumb wheel to the left (SET)
position and release.
3.
An indicator light on the DIS illuminates
when cruise control is operating.
If required, vehicle speed can be increased
through normal use of the accelerator.
When the accelerator pedal is released,
road speed will return to the previously set
cruising speed.
Note:
The minimum set and resume speed
is 20 mph (32 km/h).
CANCELING CRUISE CONTROL
Cruise control can be canceled by
pressing the switch on the steering
wheel. The indicator light on the DIS
will turn off.
Note:
Cruise control is also canceled when
the brake pedal is pressed,
REGEN
mode is
selected, ESC is turned Off, or if the
vehicle’s speed falls below 20 mph
(32 km/h).
RESUMING CRUISE CONTROL
•
To resume cruise control at the
previously set speed, press the thumb
wheel to the right (RES).
Note:
Cruise control will only be resumed if
the vehicle’s speed is more than 20 mph
(32 km/h).
CHANGING THE CRUISING SPEED
The vehicle’s set cruising speed can be
adjusted as follows:
•
To decrease the set speed, press and
hold the thumb wheel to the left.
To decrease the speed in smaller
increments move the thumb wheel to
the left and release. Each operation of
the thumb wheel will decrease the
speed by 1 mph (2 km/h).
•
To increase the set speed, press and
hold the thumb wheel to the right.
To increase the speed in smaller
increments move the thumb wheel to
the right and release. Each operation of
the thumb wheel will increase the speed
by 1 mph (2 km/h).
