ENGINE COMPARTMENT
ENGINE OIL
CAUTION: It is recommended that the
oil level is checked monthly. If any
significant or sudden drop in oil level is
noted, seek qualified assistance
immediately.
CAUTION: Your Revero’s warranty
may be invalidated if damage is
caused by the use of improper engine oil.
Low quality or obsolete oils do not provide
the protection required by modern, high
performance engines. Failure to use an oil
that meets the required specification could
cause excessive engine wear, a buildup of
sludge and deposits and increased
pollution. It could also lead to engine failure.
CAUTION: Do not use oil additives of
any type, as engine damage could
occur. Use only specified lubricants.
CHECKING THE OIL LEVEL
Note:
If it is necessary to check the oil level
when the engine is hot, switch off the
vehicle and let it stand for five minutes to
allow the oil to drain back into the sump.
1.
Withdraw the dipstick and wipe the
blade clean with a lint free cloth.
2.
Fully re-insert the dipstick and
withdraw again to check the oil level.
Never allow the oil level to fall below the
lower mark on the dipstick.
As a general guide, if the level on the
dipstick:
•
Is nearer to the upper mark, add no oil.
•
Is nearer to the lower mark than the
upper, add one pint (half a liter) of oil.
•
Is below the lower mark, add two pints
(one liter) of oil and re-check the level
after a further five minutes.
ADDING ENGINE OIL
CAUTION: Overfilling with oil could
result in severe engine damage. Oil
should be added in small quantities and the
level re-checked to ensure that the engine
is not overfilled.
1.
Unscrew the oil filler cap.
2.
Add the recommended engine oil to
maintain the level between the
MIN
and
MAX
marks on the dipstick. See
“Approved Fluids and Capacities” on
3.
Check the oil level again after five
minutes.
4.
Once the correct level is achieved,
replace the filler cap and securely
tighten by hand.
5.
Clean up any oil spilled during topping-
up.
WARNING:
Engine oil contains
chemicals known to the State of
California to cause cancer and birth
defects or other reproductive harm. WASH
HANDS AFTER HANDLING. See California
Proposition 65 Warning 0227.
