Scan by file list
– only download changed and new anti-virus
databases. The information regarding the changes is obtained
by means of comparing the database description files stored on
the update server and the server running the update task. The
mode is enabled by default.
B.1.3. The
Event log
Tab
The
Event log
tab (see Figure 82) is used for setting up the parameters of
logging the update task execution results, including: the log file type, its location
and size, the list of events to be logged, and the file name in which to save the
log. A separate log file is created for each task.
In the
Log file type
group select the format of the log file:
•
XML
– two formats:
xml
and
htm
. The htm-type log can be viewed using
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0. This is the default format.
•
Text
–
is a *.txt file. The Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 will be also used
to display the text, although the journal will have rather traditional view
like most of text-files.
The log file name and its location directory are displayed in the
Event log file
folder
group, in the
Path
and
File name
fields, respectively. The default
directory for storing log files is
Log/Xml
. The directory can be changed with the
Browse
button in the
Path selection
window. The
File name
is set
automatically based on the task type and its internal ID. The file name cannot be
changed by the administrator.
The event log records the task settings used during its execution and information
about updating results. The structure of the latter can be adjusted by the user. By
default it contains the information regarding the update source and the results of
downloading the updates from this source.
