The ultrasonic transducer should be stuck directly from below onto the engine bonnet sheet (or under the car roof sheet or boot lid sheet). A
direct mechanical contact must be established between the ultrasonic transducer and the sheet, as ultrasound cannot otherwise be
transmitted (i.e. rubber coatings and similar insulation materials should be removed from the position where the transducer is to be
mounted). The side with the smaller ultrasonic transducer disk (Ø approx. 30mm) is adhered to the vehicle body sheet.

A suitable position should be carefully selected under the engine bonnet, roof or tailgate. Larger sheet surfaces tend to oscillate at their own
(another) resonance frequency. The ultrasonic transducer oscillate at approx. 23 KHz, but larger sheet areas may for physical reasons oscillate
at a lower harmonic frequency. This will then also render the pulsating sound audible to the human ear. For this reason, tests should be
conducted with double-sided adhesive tape prior to permanent installation. Please note: the greater the metal surface, the louder the sound
volume, but the risk that the sheet may oscillate at a lower frequency also increases. Please try it out first at a position with a larger metal
surface free of reinforcement and cross or longitudinal members. Another position should be selected should you hear pulsating, audible
sounds. Natural resonance is lowest in the vicinity of welded cross and longitudinal members. However, the sound volume is also lowest in
these areas. The position should also be selected to ensure that the ultrasonic transducer does not become too hot (< 80 degrees C). It should
not, for example, be installed directly above the exhaust manifold. When you have found the right position with the double-sided adhesive
tape, please remove the adhesive tape and affix the ultrasonic transducer with a modern adhesive for motor vehicles which adheres well to
plastic and metal and is resistant to heat. The adhesive should not be too soft, as this will impair effective transmission of the vibrations.
The control unit is affixed to a position in the engine compartment which cannot become too hot (avoid the vicinity of the exhaust manifold). The
cable between the ultrasonic transducer and the control unit should be laid so that the engine bonnet can be opened and closed without difficulty.
The two cables for the control unit power supply must be connected to the car battery to allow the module to work. Please connect the earth cable
(minus connection) to the vehicle earth or the minus pole on the car battery. The plus cable (the cable with the fuse holder) can be connected as
follows:

Direct connection to the plus cable of the car battery (e.g. on the car fuse box). The marten repeller is then continuously activated. The car
battery suffers almost no damage as a result, due to the extremely low power consumption (below the battery self-discharging level).
However, the marten repeller is then continuously activated and could unsettle other animals when waiting at traffic lights or when stopped
for a brief period in public car parks, etc.

Connection via a switch mounted in the passenger cabin. You can then actuate an off switch (not included) between the marten repeller pulse
delivery and your car battery. This allows you to activate the marten repeller manually only when required.

Connection via terminal 15 (ignition plus; on the ignition switch or radio connector). The marten repeller is activated automatically when the
car is parked (engine off) and deactivated automatically when the ignition is switched on (engine runs) if you connect the plus cable to the car
battery and the earth (minus) cable to terminal 15. Terminal 15 in the car is connected to the earth when the car is parked and to plus when
the ignition is activated.
The LED integrated in the control unit flashes in a slow sequence following commissioning. A failure of this indicator light to flash may be due to an
absence of operating voltage or the fact that you have confused the plus and minus poles.
Important: wild animals such as martens and wildcats find ultrasound extremely unpleasant and, in most cases, they then look for another place to
spend their time. However, there are exceptions to this (e.g. territorial behaviour, older animals), so we cannot guarantee 100% that they will be
driven away.
Pets may not react to the ultrasound. This can be due to the fact that they are used to ultrasound in the domestic environment (televisions,
switching power supply units in computers, etc.). Martens warn each other of danger in the natural environment through loud ultrasonic tones,
and the animals then avoid these places.
Please wash the engine thoroughly and also clean the space where your car is parked regularly prior to installation. Martens spread odour markings
in their territory which must be removed. The marten will otherwise feel obliged to defend its territory.

parleur montés dans le compartiment moteur, l’appareil présente l’avantage
d’émettre tant à l’intérieur de l’espace moteur qu’à l’extérieur, au

sus du capot. Les ultrasons émis à l’extérieur du véhicule possèdent un rayon
d’action pouvant atteindre 3 mètres et sont ainsi susceptibles d’indisposer également les animaux de compagnie. Veuillez en t
enir compte lors de
l’utilisation de l’appareil.
