Haloumi, Chorizo, and Spinach
Toastie
Serves 1
2 slices large sliced bread
½ tbsp ajvar
1 slice chorizo salami
1 slice tomato
¼ cup baby spinach
2 slices haloumi cheese
1.
Using the rings, cut circles in the sliced
bread (see p. 9).
2.
Preheat the sandwich maker until the
green ‘READY’ light illuminates.
3.
Use handles to lift cover, egg ring and
egg cooking plate.
4.
Spread ajvar on one of the bread
circles and place onto bottom plate.
Top with chorizo and tomato.
5.
Lower the egg cooking plate and egg
ring down. Add spinach and haloumi
cheese.
6.
Top with remaining bread circle.
7.
Close cover. Cook for 4 minutes.
8.
Rotate the egg cooking plate to the
side. Lift cover and rings; carefully
remove toastie with scraper or tongs.
TIPS:
Chorizo can be substituted
with ham or cooked bacon and
the spinach with rocket.
NOTE:
Ajvar is a spicy roasted
capsicum spread available in most
supermarkets.
Cream Cheese, Bacon, and Egg
Crumpet Sandwich
Serves 1
2 crumpets
1 tbsp cream cheese
1 slice bacon, cooked
1 egg
1.
Preheat the sandwich maker until the
green ‘READY’ light illuminates.
2.
Use handles to lift cover, egg ring and
egg cooking plate.
3.
Spread cream cheese on one
crumpet top and place onto bottom
plate. Top with cooked bacon.
4.
Lower the egg cooking plate and
egg ring down. Crack the egg onto
cooking plate. Pierce yolk with a
toothpick or plastic spatula.
5.
Top with remaining crumpet.
6.
Close cover. Cook for 5 minutes.
7.
Rotate the egg cooking plate to the
side. Lift cover and rings; carefully
remove sandwich with scraper or
tongs.
TIPS:
Cream cheese can be
substituted with ricotta or other soft
cheese.
