6.7 Maintenance
6.7.1 Cold
start
With a
cold start
the remote reader is reset to the basic state.
The following applies to parameters which were changed via the system mode:
Parameters changed via LOWPAR are set to the default values by a cold start.
Configuration parameters are set with the SETHWC command and the diagnosis data is
retained.
The
cold start
takes around 3 s. The access point is blocked for the entire time.
Task
Illumination unit/Compact Reader
1. Switch off the power supply on the Compact Reader
2. Set DIP switch 6 to ON
3. Switch on the power supply at the Compact Reader
(in the case of an uninterrupted power supply, changing the status of
DIP switch 6 has no effect)
2x short beeps, then
red/green flashing
4. Switch off the power supply at the Compact Reader,
set DIP switch 6 to OFF,
and switch the power supply for the
Compact Reader on again
5. Compact Reader is in operation again

6. The current parameters of the parent control unit are downloaded if
there is an online connection
